Remember that obviously-should-be-real movie starring Rihanna and Lupita Nyong'o that Twitter dreamed up last month? Well, according toEntertainment Weekly, that's now going to be a real fucking movie. Following "dramatic" negotiations at this year's Cannes Film Festival, Netflix emerged victorious and is currently putting things in motion to ensure production kicks off in 2018.

The film is described as a "buddy movie" starring Rihanna and Lupita Nyong'o. Ava DuVernay (Selma, 13th) will direct, with Insecure star and creator Issa Rae said to be "in talks" to pen the script. It's unclear, however, if the film will exactly follow the proposed plot that emerged on social media in April. In other words, nearly every aspect of Twitter's dream project is coming true. Amazing.

This surefire Best Movie Ever started with the virality of a single photo of Nyong'o and Rihanna:

Then, thanks to the power of tweeted creativity, a possible project started to develop:

Eventually, the pitch was touted by its eventual stars, director, and writer:

Hopefully, the Twitter users responsible for this cinematic gem will be handsomely rewarded.

In the meantime, DuVernay's A Wrinkle in Time is set for a March 9, 2018 release. Rae's excellent Insecure, which earned rave reviews during its inaugural season on HBO, will premiere its eight-episode second season July 23. "We're coming back happier, stronger, better, doper than ever," Rae vowed in March:
