Eddie Huang's popular Viceland show Huang's World is back for a second season, and Canadian fans of the show will be happy to learn that the food personality and best-selling author pays our little country a visit this time around: the multicultural city of Toronto is a natural fit for the show, which specifically explores how globalization affects cuisine around the world.
Huang visits a number of well-known Toronto restaurants and food suppliers including George's Tastee, which is one of the biggest suppliers of Jamaican patties in the GTA and is actually owned by a Chinese family, as are most of the patty suppliers in the city. Huang also visits Loga's Corner in Parkdale, and marvels at how Tibetan food is hard to come by in New York or LA but the community of Parkdale has a number of options when it comes to this distinct cuisine. There are also a few Degrassi jokes and references thrown into the episode for good measure.
Some of the other destinations Huang visits this season include Peru, Cape Cod, Tokyo and Dubai. Peep the trailer below, and watch for the Huang's World premiere on VICELAND on Wednesday June 28 at 10pm.
