Man dressed as Joker gets shot during swinging party

A very unfortunate man dressed as The Joker went from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows when the sex he was having was interrupted by a police officer shooting him. Ditto for the woman he was in the middle of intercourse with, who could say the same thing, except that she was dressed as Harley Quinn at the time. This bizarre event went down during a "Swingers Event" at an Australian club at roughly 3 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The 35-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his chest, while the woman was shot in the leg. At the time the Melbourne-based club was hosting an erotic costume party which they called the "Saints and Sinners Ball."

Police, who say they were called to the venue after it was reported there was an armed man there, contend that the man pulled out a handgun from his pants and aimed it at the officers. However, the club's owner disputes that version of the events, and instead says that the guy didn't have anything in his hands, and that he was in a "compromising position" with the woman when he got popped.

"Venue staff has stated that the male victim was not holding anything in his hand but rather he was in a compromising position with his female partner," owner Martha Tsamis said. "Security verified that a plastic toy accessory was displayed to, and passed by security, and this information was given to police on arrival. No patron at the event came to inform us, our staff, or security of this concern, but apparently made an anonymous Triple Zero call to police."

Police claim they are investigating whether the firearm was real or not which, I don't know, seems like it shouldn't take very long.

In case you're wondering, both of the cosplaying supervillains are currently in stable condition.
