Earlier this month, we announced that Kyle Hodge was the winner of the “The Next Sneaker Design Star” competition, and was headed to a multi-day apprenticeship with sneaker company Creative Recreation. I didn't really know what to expect when I landed in LA this morning, but after a nice walk through West Hollywood in the morning, my mind was made up on LA: I love it! I met up with some cool people from Complex later on, who gave me a tour of the LA office and the surrounding area. It was a short walk from Complex LA HQ to the Creative Recreation offices, and I got to pass some legendary spots like the Viper Room and the Roxy. At Creative Recreation, I got to meet the staff for a tour of their offices, which have amazing views of both the Hollywood Hills and Downtown LA. I’ve already learned a lot about the industry, how the company works, and I got some dope gear before leaving—and it’s only day one. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
