It was pretty much expected that Nike was going to lock down the first overall pick in the most recent WNBA draft, Brittney Griner, to an endorsement deal. After all, despite never having played a single professional basketball game in her young career, Griner is already considered to be one of the most dominate female basketball players of all time. But instead of just putting all their eggs in one basket, Nike went for the trifecta.

Along with Griner, the Swoosh also signed the second and third overall picks (Elena Delle Donne and Skylar Diggins respectively) to endorsement deals as well. Perhaps this means the arrival of more women-specific Nike basketball shoes in the coming future.
