In soccer, the game ball is one of the most important and iconic emblems of the game. Each major cup and tournament has a distinct look, led by original artwork capturing the spirit of the sport.
Today adidas has unveiled to us the new Official Match balls for the 2013/2014 the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the 2013 UEFA Super Cup competitions. The Super Cup begins tomorrow with features the match between Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
Each ball has defined graphics, design, and art work appropriate for the respective event. For the UEFA Championships League Ball, the artwork within the iconic star panel construction uses distinctive colors (white / infrared / silver / black) and graphics to signify a "ceremony of light." The UEFA Europa League Ball will see a new design inspired by the trophy and logo. Incorporating the now iconic Europa League colors, this ball is also inspired by the “ceremony of light design too. The 2013 UEFA Super Cup for tomorrow’s game will incorporate the Super Cup logo and integrates the colors of the two finalists.
