It’s still summertime, so you probably won’t be swapping in your sneakers for ski boots anytime soon. But if last year’s nearly sold-out model is any indication, the latest Apex MC-X won’t be on the shelves very long, so don't sleep on this one.
Designed to take you anywhere on the mountain, the unisex MC-X features the walkability of a snowboard boot with the high performance of a pure ski boot. It is integrated with a nano fiber modular open chassis to allow the foot to rest in its natural position. Whether it’s freestyle or all mountain skiing, the MC-X is versatile enough to help you get the most out of your runs.
The boot includes a heat moldable inner liner, a tunable A-Flex suspension and a Boa Focus speed lacing closure system—the holy trinity of custom fit. To round it all out, Apex has slapped a Vibram sole on the inner boot for improved maneuverability through the backcountry.
With a price tag of $895, look for the MC-X to hit retailers starting October 1, 2013.
