Your favorite guys are back at it for the second episode of Season 2 – the hosts of Complex’s Quickstrike, DJ Clark Kent and Russ Bengston, bringing more of the new intel to the populace to keep everyone in the know.
One topic of discussion is the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Bel-Air”, a shoe taking direct inspiration from everyone’s favorite teenager from Philadelphia and iconic television sitcom, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. Although criticized harshly at first for its somewhat bland grey base, the masses have warmed up to the shoe’s early-‘90s color combinations and pop, gaining cult status even before its release.
Also being discussed is the second colorway release of the adidas Mutombo, a shoe made famous by future Basketball Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo (who’s on his second go-round with the show, a first for Quickstrike).
With much spirited debate, both hosts opine on the what constitutes a classic sneaker and what standards a sneaker must meet to be an “OG”. Unfortunately, in Clark Kent’s case, he’s faced the discourse that directly addresses whether the Nike Air Force 1 should be retired and scrapped from future production (probably not the worst idea in the world, considering how much better and uniform the Nike Lunar Force 1 currently is).
