Lindsey Vonn announced this morning via Facebook that she would not be able to complete in Sochi, citing her injured ACL as the reason.

"I am devastated to announce that I will not be able to compete in Sochi. I did everything I possibly could to somehow get strong enough to overcome having no ACL but the reality has sunk in that my knee is just too unstable to compete at this level. I'm having surgery soon so that I can be ready for the World Championships at home in Vail next February. On a positive note, this means there will be an additional spot so that one of my teammates can go for gold. Thank you all so much for all of the love and support. I will be cheering for all of the Olympians and especially team USA!
XO Lindsey"

While the Sneaker Report team is sad to see #TeamLindsey go, we're completely confident that she'll make a comeback for the World Championships and hopefully go onto compete in the 2018 Pyeongchang Games to become oldest Olympic Alpine skiing medalist of all time.

But in the meantime, does this mean we'll never see Cynthia Rowley's exclusive helmet come to life? After Rowley released the below image of a helmet flaunting a fierce looking snow leopard, we were looking forward to seeing this creation on one of today's best known skiers. This paired with Vonn's Under Armour gearwas going to be a complete departure from her Spyder suits of the past few years, so here's hoping we don't have to wait long to see Lindsey's new look on the slopes.
