Upon the heels of its Nike Knows sportwear collection, the Swoosh wants you to know their legendary athletes as well. Here's a closer look at the athletes who have inspired generations of players, along with the brand's frontrunners today, starting with the omniscient Bo Jackson.

In a class all by himself, Bo proved that becoming an NFL Pro Bowler and MLB All-Star was possible. As the definition of a freak athlete, Jackson's career teamed with Nike single-handedly popularized the art of cross-training. Known as "The Kid," Ken Griffey Jr. brought a different type of presence to the game of baseball. As the most prolific center fielders of all time, Griffey did everything with style. From the backwards hat and one-of-a-kind swing, the 13x All-Star did it all, influencing outfielders today like Matt Kemp and Mike Trout.

Check out Nike's athletes below and stay tuned for news on the performance front as Nike continues to celebrate its athletes of past and present.
