adidas Originals Goes O.G. With the ZX Flux "Tone Base" Pack

The adidas Originals ZX Flux "Tone Base" pack releases on July 1 at adidas retailers.

It's already known that the adidas Originals ZX Flux is inspired by the O.G. ZX 8000 runner from 1989. From the upper to the midsole and overall silo, the ZX Flux can be interpreted as a modern take on the vintage runner. For Three Stripes' upcoming ZX Flux "Tone Base" pack, the nod to its inspiration is taken a step further.

The two-sneaker pack features a blue and red offering that's outfitted in the ZX Flux's signature mesh upper. The simple color scheme is accompanied with contrasting black hits on the heel cage and branding. At first glance, this is all normal for the up-and-coming model.

What sets the "Tone Base" pack apart from past ZX Flux styles is the color blocking on its midsole. Instead of the usual solid color we're accustomed to seeing, this iteration features black accents on the heel and mid-foot—identical color blocking you would find on the O.G. ZX 8000 runner. It's a subtle update, but meaningful to fans of the ZX 8000.

You can pick up the "Tone Base" pack at select adidas Originals retailers when it drops on July 1.
