One of the biggest trends throughout sports today is the integration use of wearable technologies to monitor and track performance. Before today, many of the wearables on the market were focused running and other cardio areas, but now Trace is bringing the technology to action sports athletes everywhere. Trace comes from the makers of AlpineReplay, and provides skiers, snowboarders and surfers with real time data to give the ultimate bragging rights over friends.

The Trace sport tracker weighs just 1.4oz and clips easily onto your surfboards, skis and snowboards to measure speed, distance, turns, vertical, airtime, airs, calories burned, and much more. The data accumulated allows athletes to track their progress and learn what areas of riding need to be improved on. Also included is Trace Cam, which syncs with all Bluetooth-enabled video devices, including GoPro, iPhone, Android and allows you to instantaneously relive your session through professional-quality highlight videos.

“I grew up surfing and snowboarding, and always wondered if I was really getting better. Trace gives you the information to track your performance and visualize your improvement,” says David Lokshin, co-founder of Trace. “The automatic video editing is a key feature for Trace. It creates a highlight reel where you can see your best moments with the accompanying stats overlaid right on the video clip.”

In addition, Trace also launched the Trace Snow and Trace Surf apps, which allows you to connect with your friends and compare data to give what every athlete ultimately plays for, bragging rights.

“Trace will tell you stats on your sport that haven’t been measured before. Over the last few years, we’ve successfully built a loyal following for our AlpineReplay app and we are excited to share the new video capabilities from Trace that no other tracking device on the market can offer, as well as an improved app interface,” said Dr. Anatole Lokshin, Trace CEO and Co-Founder.

Trace is currently available for $200 at their online shop, and those who purchase can download the Trace Snow and Trace Surf apps for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
