Just in time to tough it out against the elements, Vans is set to release two of its signature skate shoes with some crazy upgrades.
The "Armored" pack is a collaboration with San Francisco-based shop The Darkside Initiative and features the Sk8-Hi LX and Era LX. Instead of the signature canvas material typically used on both models, each one is equipped with technical fabric to keep you right throughout the fall/winter season.
Superfabric, which is constructed of armor plates and is abrasion-resistant, makes up the upper on both pairs for extra durability. For the interior, each pair is lined with a material initially made for NASA called Outlast, which helps promote advanced insulation. This is still a sneaker we're talking about, right?
Watch out for the collaboration to be available in-store at The Darkside Initiative this Saturday. The sneakers will be available for purchase online the following day at 6 p.m. EST.
