UPDATE (August 19, 4:20 p.m.):

According to a recent interview with Hypebeast, the next Don C x Air Jordan IIs are "slated for a Fall 2015 release." In the piece, Don C. said, "Kids have come back to me and said ‘I wasn’t into the Jordan II but now I’m into them.’”

We're almost three months into 2015 and it's already been a remarkable year in sneaker releases.

Amongst the year's most coveted thus far has been the Just Don x Air Jordan II collaboration which dropped just a few weeks ago. While the "Bright Blue" was definitely an eye-catching drop, Don C recently shared an image of a black and gold version of the quilted beauties and those would've been a real problem. We already know that the iconic Chanel handbag served as the shoe's primary inspiration, but a "Black" pair would truly resonate with sneakerheads, many of which would love to have just to stunt along with wifey.

Additional details of the shoe include "Metallic Gold" hardware utilized on the d-rings, "Just Don" deubrés, and the Jordan "Wings" logo which looks absolutely sick. As dope as the "Metallic Gold" touches were, its also the reason these didn't release as Don C stated "the hardware didn't pass safety regulations." Could we see a reworked version drop sometime in the future? Maybe. But at this point, it's just wishful thinking.
