Vans has dipped its sneakers in countless patterns, colors, and makeovers, but there's one print that remains synonymous with Paul Van Doren's creation — the checkerboard.

For 2015, the iconic print gets a new look courtesy of film director Harmony Korine. Known best for writing 1995's Kids and directing 2013's Spring Breakers, you probably didn't realize that Korine is also an accomplished artist. For this collab with Vans Syndicate, he's taken his talent directly to the canvas, decking out the Authentic Pro "S" and Slip-on Pro "S" silhouettes in a hand-drawn checkerboard pattern. It's the same iconic Vans pattern you grew up on with a grungy twist.

The Authentic Pro "S" is adorned with a black and white print, while the Slip-on Pro "S" opts for pink and white. You can cop the Harmony Korine x Vans Syndicate collection today from Concepts.
