The Nike Roshe LD-1000 is often misrepresented as being inspired by the Cortez (it was actually inspired by the LD-1000 silhouette from the late '70s), and now the lines will be blurred even further with @nikelab's announcement of the NikeLab Roshe Cortez.

The similarities between the Roshe Cortez and the LD-1000 are striking, especially on the overlays and Swoosh placement. However, upon closer inspection, it's clear that these are something new entirely.

The toebox and eyelet overlays feature the Cortez' signature rippled design, while a blue midsole stripe ties this new look back to the model's most famous colorway. One thing that hasn't changed is the Free-inspired Natural Motion outsole.

These will be available starting Thursday, June 18, online and at select NikeLab locations.
