Back in the early 2000s, Michael Vick was the most exciting player in the NFL. Drafted out of Virgina Tech, Vick was a superstar quarterback with electric play making skills who was on the verge of becoming of the greatest to play the game. However, his decision to run a dog fighting ring derailed what was once a Hall of Fame worthy career and also ended his lucrative endorsement deal with Nike.
Fast forward to the present, and Vick, who has made his amends and made a successful return to football, is now seeing one of his signature Nikes back on shelves. The Nike Air Zoom Vick II is back for retail consumption and sneakerheads who remember these couldn't be happier. Considering Vick's past, it was a bit of a surprise that Nike resigned him last year. And though Nike might've retroed his shoe at some point with or without him, it was more likely to see the model retroed without any mention of Vick - the same way in which Nike retroed Chris Webber and Kevin Garnett's signature models. Decked out in a "White/Varsity Red" upper with hits of "Metallic Silver," fans can head over to Nike Store now to pick up a pair and then head into the next football season once again wearing the shoes of one of the most exciting football players ever to play in the NFL.
