As designer Guillaume Philibert prepared to launch Filling Pieces in 2009, he shared his first samples with a group of close friends whose positive feedback and encouragement convinced him that he was on the right track.

Philibert then proceeded to withdraw his entire savings to start the brand, which has since evolved into one of the biggest companies in footwear. Meanwhile, the same friends that he sought feedback from were working on something on their own — a clothing line known as Daily Paper.

Now, the old friends are putting their heads together once again for the Daily Paper x Filling Pieces Low Top Velcro "White." The model is essentially a rework of the standard Filling Pieces Low Top with a Velcro closure replacing the usual waxed laces. As we've come to expect from the brand, both the leather upper and rubber sole are made in Italy.

This marks the second collaboration from Filling Pieces and Daily Paper, the first being 2013's "Batik" collection. Look out for the Filling Pieces x Daily Paper Low Top Velcro "White" to drop August 29 at select retailers including Kith, Storm Copenhagen, La Ferramenta Bologna, Baskets Amsterdam, Monkey Time Tokyo, Big in Japan Store, Pathers Brussels, Renaissance Antwerp, and of course, Filling Pieces online
