Here's Why (Almost) No One Is Touching Drake When It Comes to Sneakers

While the adidas Yeezy Boosts have been the most hyped sneakers of the year, Kanye could have some serious competition on his hands in the form of October's Very Own, Drake.

Champs Sports did some reflecting on Aubrey's history with the brand, and it's clear that tomorrow's "OVO" Jordan X release has been a long time coming. From the buzz surrounding the unreleased IIIs Drizzy wore in Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" video, which somehow actually managed to steal the spotlight away from Nicki herself, to the instant sell out of the Xs at the "OVO" pop-up shop in Los Angeles, the 6 God's not new to this. 

Keep in mind that Drake is far from a newcomer to sneaker culture. The Toronto MC has been doing this long before he inked a deal with Jordan Brand, and now he's positioned himself to make a serious dent on the industry, à la Yeezy.
