Adidas is paying tribute to one of the most storied soccer clubs in history.
Manchester United, one of the most recognizable teams in all of sports, is getting a limited-edition sneaker courtesy of adidas. To commemorate the club, adidas reached into its vaults for its Stretford model creating an all-black offering adorned with a laser engraving of Man U's Red Devil on the back heel. Unlike the kits adidas designed for female Red Devil fans, these kicks have generated quite a bit of love and appreciation on social media.
According to a report from Metro, adidas announced via Twitter that 1,200 pair would be made available to the public with an in-store release date of October 19 followed by an online drop on October 29. Retail price is reported to be £85, roughly $130, and will packaged in a special box. However, adidas has since deleted that tweet so it remains to be seen if those details still hold true. For fans wanting to cop a pair, we suggest paying close attention to your local adidas retailers.
