There’s no doubt about it… Toronto is having yet another moment on the world stage. To celebrate Nike has unveiled a re-vamped edition of its classic Air Max 1 sneaker, dubbed "The 6."

The Air Max 1 "The 6" was designed by a Canadian and includes Toronto-specific features like rubberized coating on the all-white outsoles and tech tough coated leathers to protect against Canadian winters. Next? There’s a maple leaf graphic on the front tongue, "The 6" on the back  of the tongue, and an image of a North emphasizing compass on the heels.

Inside? The shoe’s sock liners are inspired by the aurora borealis (or the Northern Lights) with a graphic of Toronto’s iconic CN Tower.

The Air Max 1 "The 6" will be available on Sunday December 6 at Nike.com (which now offers delivery in Canada), Nike Sportswear retailers and select Toronto-area boutiques including Lost and Found, Community 54, Nomad and Capsule Footwear. On Thursday December 17th the kicks will be available at select US retailers.
