The holiday season often inspires acts of generosity, and now we have another example of kindhearted people giving back. Alysia Stern took to the streets of Manhattan to feed some of our homeless war veterans yesterday, and after providing a man with lunch, she learned that members of the New York City Police Department had recently given him a pair of Air Jordan XIII "He Got Game" sneakers.

The sneaker community is known for having large collections, but it's humbling to see how just having one pair of reliable sneakers can make a impact on someone. According to Stern, the man removed his blanket to proudly show off his new sneakers while she was speaking with him. We don't know whether or not this was part of a bigger NYPD initiative, or just a random act of kindness, but props to the officers responsible for helping this man out.
