While many 'heads would never knowingly be caught in a pair of fake sneakers, one writer decided to do just that and test his limits by rocking fakes for a month straight. In the end, he found that not only is it harder than it might look, but it can actually take a toll on your sanity, too.

Complex contributor Pete Forester took on the daunting challenge for Sole Collector, deciding on a few pairs of Havik Footwear's blatant adidas Yeezy Boost rip offs. Right from the jump, Forester was taken aback by just how fake they actually were, noting that "The 750s that look something like the real thing in the pictures aren't anything close to seeming real."

With his new fake Yeezys laced up, Forester began the 30-day trek and soon noticed that the fugazi kicks were causing him to reflect more on his personal relationship with sneakers than ever before.

"When I was wearing fake Yeezys for a month, it was really hard to feel good," he said. Before long, things took a turn for the worse, and Forester eventually found it hard to even get out of bed in the mornings.

As the month progressed, Forester ended up learning a valuable lesson about the importance that we place on material items — something we're all guilty of to a certain degree. To read about his entire experience, visit Sole Collector.
