It's been a long time coming, and now it looks like adidas is finally preparing to unveil a colored Boost foam.

Previewed here is an early look at upcoming NMD Runner colorways courtesy of the adidas Ultra Boost Worldwide Facebook group. There's a ton of heat, with twelve new make ups in all, but what really caught our eye was the triple black pair pictured on the right in the image above.

From the jump, it's clear that there's something special about this pair — they have a fully black Boost midsole, something that's only been seen on custom projects until now. Considering the demand for colored Boost, this should give sneakerheads something to look forward to in 2016.

Colored Boost foam has actually been in the works for awhile. In a September 2015 interview with Nice Kicks, adidas Running Category Manager Jim Jennings said that the brand had been experimenting with colored Boost and hoped to debut it sooner than later. Now, it looks like we're closer than ever to this becoming a reality.

Along with the triple black NMD Runner are a number of other colorways to get excited about. Check out the full lineup below and stay tuned for more concrete release details.
