The act of un-boxing sneakers has become commonplace on the Internet, and, to be frank, most of the videos are boring. It's just another "blogger"—or "vlogger"?—cracking open a pair of sneakers that everyone has seen before. But something major happened this morning: The sneaker un-boxing game changed.
Our own Russ Bengtson, who I can see furiously tweeting out of the corner of my eye, decided to show the world the new Concepts x New Balance 998 "Grand Tourer." How'd he do it? By just opening the box and tossing the sneakers on a table behind his desk. Leave it up to the guy who, essentially, invented sneaker journalism to create a new way to show your shoes to the world.
It's time to step up your videos, guys. The paradigm has shifted forever.
