It's been 14 long years since the atmos x Nike Air Max 1 "Safari" turned the runner world on its head, but the first Air Max collab is finally coming back — sort of.

A retro of the sought after collaboration is set to release soon, but there are a handful of differences that you should be aware of. For starters, the most obvious update is the toebox, which takes the "Safari" theme to new levels with a fur-covered treatment.

Down low, the gum outsole is switched out with an icy one. As is often the case with Air Max 1 retros, the shape of the toe box isn't quite as sleek as the O.G., either.

Despite the differences, we have a feeling that sneakerheads are going to flock to these. Sole Collector reports a rumored release date of February 27, but you'll have to stay tuned for an official confirmation. Check out the retro and compare them with the originals below.
