Nike introduced Flyknit technology in February 2012 with the Flyknit racer. Four years later, the technology runs through the brand's line of products in categories such as running, training, basketball, soccer, and even lifestyle with sneakers like the Flyknit Air Force 1. More than just a lightweight material, Flyknit has helped Nike become the biggest and most sustainable sportswear brand.
In honor of the four years of Flyknit, the Nike created an infographic outlining the history of the technology. Nike PR Director Heidi Burgett shared some of its accomplishments tweeting, "4 yrs of Nike Flyknit: 500 patents, 60% less waste, 28+ models & counting."
Many of Nike's most popular sneakers feature Flyknit, so the brand's future with the technology should be nothing but promising. Check out the infrographic below.
