You often think of great athletes wearing custom-crafted shoes: basketball players, tennis stars, elite runners. But what about world-class drivers too? After all, it’s not just about putting the pedal to the metal—it’s about what you put against the pedal as well.

The crew at JackThreads recently put this concept into practice by teaming up with Honda to create a sneaker that is inspired by the dramatically redesigned, all-new 2016 Honda Civic. In doing so, they have taken the core elements of Honda’s automobile design—high touch, high tension, and high tech—and created a piece of footwear that embodies all three: the HT3 sneaker.

Featuring high-quality materials that include sleek suede with metallic hints and a quilted leather pattern on the heel counter and insole, the HT3 ensures a comfortable and snug fit by employing a neoprene vamp that fits securely over the top of the driver’s foot, as well as articulated nodes that wrap around the wearer’s ankle to provide additional support. What’s more, the clean lines of the sneaker correspond completely with the smooth lined design that the Civic’s exterior is famous for.

The limited edition HT3 sneaker will be dropping today, and you can gaze at a pic of the all-new 2016 Honda Civic above to give you an idea of the kind of sleek, stylish, and wholly unique experience we’re in for.
