The legacy of the Air Jordan XII shouldn’t stop with the “Flu Game.” Yes, it’s the shoe’s most memorable moment and also one of the greatest on-court performances of Michael Jordan’s career. But he also did so much more in the Jordan XII.

He hit a buzzer-beating game-winning jump shot in the NBA Finals in the Jordan XII. He had a 55-point playoff game in the Jordan XII. He recorded the first All-Star Game triple-double in the Jordan XII. He even got crossed up by Allen Iverson in the Jordan XII.

Add in iconic cultural moments, like the incredible “Frozen Moment” ad, and it’s easy to see why so many cherish this shoe’s real legacy.

The Jordan I started everything. The Jordan III saved everything. And the Jordan XI topped everything. But this sneaker had a moment of its own. The Jordan XII was the line’s first signature sneaker to release under the Jordan Brand umbrella. We shouldn’t…we can’t forget about that.

Then there was the design of the shoe. Though those who’ve played ball in the XII will tell you it’s one of the most durable basketball sneakers ever, the word you could use to describe the shoe is elegant. It’s an elegant shoe, particularly colorways like the “Taxi” and “Playoff” editions. During the late ’90s, MJ was transitioning from basketball player to cultural icon and that business aspect certainly played a part in Tinker Hatfield’s designs.

Over the years, the Air Jordan XII has stayed relevant and right now it’s arguably one of the hottest sneakers in the game. This year’s “Master” Jordan XII proved that. And now on April 2, we’re getting our first release of the “French Blue” colorway in 12 years.

In the latest Game Plan collection from Champs Sports, the “French Blue” edition is coming with a variety of key options to complete the full fit. There are Jordan T-shirts, shorts, crew socks, and even a bucket hat. For footwear, if the “French Blue” joints are a little out of your price range, the collection also includes lifestyle silhouettes like the Horizon and Eclipse. Both of them feature similar colorways.

On the heels of the “Master” release, this will be one of the biggest drops so far this year. Head over to Champs Sports and cop the new Jordan French Blue Game Plan collection from Champs Sports. We’ve been waiting on this one.
