NBA Commissioner Adam Silver Thinks Nike Will Take NBA Uniforms To Another Level Than adidas Did

Adam Silver says Nike is a better fit for the NBA than adidas.

Even with all of the strides that adidas has taken in recent years, Nike is still the undisputed king of basketball, and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver recently told SLAM that he believes the Swoosh is a better fit for the NBA than the Three Stripes. While this doesn't necessarily come as a surprise, it is interesting to see Silver talk so transparently about the two brands, especially considering that adidas is still a league partner. 

With Nike set take over outfitting NBA uniforms after next season, Silver has high hopes for the type of innovations that the Swoosh will bring to the league. "I’m really excited to see what comes. But I have no doubt that they’re gonna once again change the game. That’s who they are. As I said, thank you to adidas, they’ve been wonderful partners. But I think Nike is ready to take it to another level," said Silver. We already know we could be seeing Jordan Brand logos on uniforms, but it sounds like Nike's impact will extend far beyond just logos and fashion.
