The infamous Air Jordan 1 "Banned" is coming back this year–you already knew that thanks to early info on the shoe's return that leaked at the end of 2015. Jordan Brand more or less confirmed the release today, with endorser Russell Westbrook talking about its return in the below video from Twitter.

"To bring [the Jordan 1] back out, for me to be a part of that," Westbrook says, "it's a blessing."

The shoe's release is tied to the coming Air Jordan XXX1, which features a black/red colorway referencing the Jordan 1.

The sneaker that Westbrook holds in the video appears to be the 2011 "Banned" Jordan 1 release, which differs from this year's version. If current Jordan release dates hold, the "Banned" Jordan 1 should return on Sep. 3, 2016.
