adidas is continuing to push the boundaries of footwear design and raise awareness to the threat of plastic pollution with their ongoing collaboration with nonprofit organization Parley for the Oceans. The sneaker giant is set to expand their line of sneakers made with ocean plastic debris with the release of fresh blue versions of the UltraBOOST, UltraBOOST X, and UltraBOOST Uncaged.

The new Parley editions of the UltraBOOST, UltraBOOST X and UltraBOOST Uncaged are similar to the original UltraBOOST Uncaged Parleys that dropped in November. Water bottles, grocery bags and nylon fishing nets that were found during one of Parley's cleanup expeditions have been upcycled into blue yarn (inspired by blue Ocean shades), which has then been weaved to create the majority of the Primekint upper of the sneakers.

Other elements of the environmentally conscious kicks – including the laces, heel cap base material, heel webbing, heel lining and the sock-liner cover – have also been made of plastic found in the ocean.

On average, a pair of Parley shoes reuses 11 plastic bottles to create the laces, heel webbing, heel lining, and sock liner covers. Despite the reused materials, the newest models deliver the same elite performance.

The new Parley editions of the UltraBOOST, UltraBOOST X and UltraBOOST Uncaged will be available on Wednesday, May 10th. You can take a closer look at each model below:
