China Isn't Going to Let NBA Players Out of Their Contracts Now That the Lockout Is Over

Sucks to be you guys!

None

Excited to see the NBA lockout end? So were we! Wilson Chandler, Kenyon Martin, J.R. Smith, and Aaron Brooks were excited, too. Until, of course, they found out that the Chinese Basketball Association teams that they play for aren't planning on letting them out of their contracts anytime soon.

"They can play, get paid [in China] and return to the NBA in March," one Chinese team official said recently. "Or they can not get paid, and return to the NBA in March...If they think that they're going to make things difficult, not play, create problems, what's going to happen is that the teams will not release their letters of clearance they'll need to sign in the NBA. There's no way out."

Sounds like fun, fellas! See ya in March! Oh, and next time: Please make sure you read the fine print on your contracts, okay?
