Admit it: You were expecting to read a story about C.C. Sabathia when you clicked on this post. Yeeeeeeeah, you were! Don't lie to us. But, that's okay. When we heard about a Cy Young-winning pitcher who admitted that he likes the Taco Bell the night before every start, we immediately thought about C.C., too. In fact, we were surprised when we heard that it wasn't him who admitted it. Rather, the culprit is Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, who made an appearance on Conan last night and revealed that the secret to his success is tacos. Lots and lots of tacos. Mmmm...
Taco Bell the night before a big game sounds like a complete fucking disaster to us. Actually, Taco Bell just about anytime sounds like a complete fucking disaster to us. But, hey: The guy won 24 games last season and completely dominated, well, everyone. So if Crunchy Taco Supremes are doing the trick, then keep on eating 'em. Just don't come crying to us when you look like C.C. Sabathia in five years!
