The San Diego State University baseball team, which is managed by Tony Gwynn, assembled a comeback for the ages yesterday. Trailing 14-4 against TCU in the top of the ninth inning in the Mountain West Conference baseball tournament, the Aztecs used two home runs and four extra-base hits to score 11 runs in the inning and take a 15-14 lead. See? A comeback for the ages!

Only problem: It happened in the top of the ninth inning, meaning TCU still had a chance to beat the Aztecs in the bottom of the frame. And, well, they did. Thanks to the rinky-dink bloop single you see here, the Horned Frogs avoided giving away the game by making a comeback of their own to win 16-15.

Sorry, SDSU. But, don't call it a comeback.
