The Dolphins Were Planning to Release Chad Johnson Before He Got Arrested On a Domestic Battery Charge

Another day, another loss for Chad.

Wow. We thoughtChad Johnson had suffered his last loss of the week yesterday afternoon when VH1pulled the plug on his reality show with his wife Evelyn Lozada. But, as it turns out, the suddenly-troubled wide receiver suffered yet another loss last night when Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin came out and admitted that, even if Johnson hadn't been arrested on Saturday night for allegedly head-butting Lozada during a domestic dispute, he still would have been released by the Fins on Sunday. Philbin said that Johnson simply wasn't a good fit in Miami.

"With any type of these decisions, it was not an easy one," Philbin said while addressing the media yesterday. "It was not reactive nor was it based on one single incident…It was more a body of evidence from June 11 forward. When he came in on June 11, we sat down and we talked and I was very clear as to the expectations of the program. It just didn't work out. It's more about the fit; in my gut, I didn't think the fit was going to be beneficial to either party moving forward…It just wasn't going to work."

Talk about being down and out. Chad Johnson's bad week continues. Sooooooo, what's next?!?
