Eagles Coach Andy Reid Has Reportedly Thought About Benching Michael Vick Since Last Season

And still no change?!

None

Earlier today, we told you that Eagles head coach Andy Reid is mulling over the idea of benching Michael Vick. And while that decision may be a reflection on how Vick has performed this season, the reality of the situation is that Reid has considered Vick's demotion to a back-up role since last season!

After the Eagles started off last season by going 3-6, Reid supposedly hoped that the T.G.I. Friday's "melon ball" drink lovin' Vince Young would perform well enough during Vick's three-week injury hiatus to warrant MV's benching. However, as we all know now, Young underperformed and the discussion to pull Vick as the team's starter was shelved until this season.

With the Eagles staring at a $15.5 million commitment to Vick next year, it looks like being benched is the least of Philly's concerns. The days of seeing MV on the football field as an Eagle are undoubtedly numbered.
