The Global Rallycross Finale in Vegas was What Racing Should Be

GRC pulled it off this time, and the racing was fantastic.

Global Rallycross is a great idea for a series that has had implementation problems in the past. The tracks have had some unnecessarily dangerous elements, spectators crowds have been small, and criticism has been abundant. All of that appears to be behind the series, however, as last night's event at SEMA in Las Vegas was perfectly executed, and the racing was excellent.

The last heat, which decided whether the championship would go to Top Gear USA host and methodical driver Tanner Foust or the more wild and unpredictable (not to mention perpetually sideways) Brian Deegan was racing at its best (above) and the whole night (below) was a great event. We're really hoping next season is more like this and that the sport continues to grow.
