A paparazzo's eager attempt to get a scoop on Justin Bieber turned deadly yesterday, after photographer Chris Guerra was struck and killed crossing a busy road. Guerra was follwing Bieber's white Ferrari 458 Italia, after he got a glimpse of the pop singer at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.

According to reports from TMZ, Guerra thought that he saw Bieber smoking marijuana and driving and was trying to get the photos. To his unfortunate dismay, Bieber wasn't even in the car. Close friend Lil Twist (pictures 3,4,5 show him and Bieber hanging together recently) had actually pulled away from the hotel with a friend in the sports car. Guerra, who was in his late 20s, stopped to take photos on Sepulveda Blvd., after the Ferrari was pulled over for speeding by highway patrol. When the cops told him to step away and go back into his car, Guerra tried crossing the street, where he was then struck and killed by an oncoming car.

"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves," Bieber said in a released statement.
