Have you been keeping up with the Oscar Pistorius story? It's getting stranger and stranger by the hour.

Just a few days after Pistorius allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, police are still trying to piece together the clues to figure out exactly how and why Pistorius murdered her. They're investigating everything from the bloody cricket bat that was found near his bedroom to the steroids that were reportedly found in Pistorius' house to find out the truth. But, one thing seems to be clear—Pistorius had a thing for guns and was not afraid to use one.

Case in point: A close friend of Pistorius spoke to the Beeld newspaper in South Africa recently and revealed that, just a few days before Pistorius allegedly killed Steenkamp, Pistorius almost shot him in the foot. Although it was an accident, Pistorius was reportedly messing around with a friend's gun at a restaurant when it went off and nearly struck the man.

"I got a huge fright," said boxer Kevin Lerena, "because the bullet hit the ground just centimeters from my foot. I must emphasize that the gun belonged to one of Pistorius' friends. Oscar just wanted to look at the gun, and it sort of snagged on his pants, releasing the safety catch. A shot went off. I wouldn't call him negligent, it was just an accident. He apologized for days afterwards."

Unfortunately, he wasn't sorry enough to give up his interest in guns. And now, it's landed him in hot water.
