Oscar Pistorius still has a long way to go if he wants to clear his name following the tragic shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last week. But, in a somewhat surprising turn of events, the Chief Magistrate in his pre-trial bail hearing just ruled that Pistorius will be granted bail today and freed from police custody, because the court system in South Africa doesn't consider him a flight risk. It's a very small victory for the "Blade Runner." But, as it turns out, the affidavit he gave earlier this week convinced Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair that Pistorius would not be a flight risk. So, he set his bail at 1,000,000 rand (which equals out to about $113,000) and ordered Pistorius to surrender all of his firearms.

Now, we sit and wait for the trial to start. If this is any indication of how things are going to go, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
