There were a lot of great moments that took place at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival over the weekend. But there was at least one tragic moment, too.

Early Saturday morning, a Coachella employee named Monte Gardner was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a car driven by a man named David Brennan near the festival. Gardner—who reportedly directed traffic for Coachella—was rushed to a local hospital after the accident, but he was pronounced dead a short time later. And, after the crash, Brennan was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police were unsure whether Gardner was driving to or from work at the time of the accident. They are still investigating the crash.
