Land Rover is Considering a Cheaper, Smaller SUV

Now Land Rover is going after the Mini Countryman.

The big thing in cars right now is CUVs, because Americans still haven't gotten over the '80s and embraced hatchbacks. Being the brand known only for making kick ass SUVs, Land Rover has decided it should probably jump on that extremely profitable bandwagon.

Expect the baby Rover to be about a foot shorter than the Evoque (shown). Whether it will be based on the Evoque's platform, or will share one with Land Rover's Indian parent company, Tata, remains to be seen. If this happens, expect it to cost a little more than its chief competitor, the Mini Countryman, which starts at $22,700.
