Rookie rider Marc Marquez  (of Repsol Honda) took first this afternoon at the inaugural Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas

At the second stop in the 2013 MotoGP Circuit, Marquez became the youngest ever winner of a MotoGP race. Marquez's teammate, Dani Pedrosa, took second. Word Champion Jorge Lorenzo finished third, missing out on a place in the top two for the first time since winning the Japanese Grand Prix in 2011

Pedrosa went out to a quick start overtaking Marquez, the pole, early on. Marquez slipped past Pedrosa on the seventh turn of the ninth lap, racing flawlessly throughout the remainder of the race.

Spanish racers claimed the weekend with Nico Terol winning Moto2 and countryman Alex Rins taking the checkered flag in Moto3.
