The Dodge Dart is available with two engines, a naturally aspirated 2.0L I4 and a turbocharged 1.4L I4 (more on that when our review goes up soon), and there have been complaints about both. Dodge is about to introduce the Dart GT, however, and it will be powered by a 2.4L Tigershark I4 that will put out 184 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque.

Dodge Brand Chief Reid Bigland thinks that this engine will be the "sweet spot" in the Dart line up, and that he sees it as being "a very popular engine this time next year." It will be mated to a different six-speed automatic from the other Darts, and will come with sportier suspension that's more akin to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta that the Dodge is based on.

We'll be happy to try it out.
