Lotus' Future is Looking Up After a $100 Million Investment

At the last possible moment, DRB-Hicom steps in to revive the automaker.

The future was looking very bleak for legendary and perpetually troubled British automaker, Lotus, but a new $100 million investment should help to revitalize the brand. We were starting to think that DRB-Hicom simply didn't care about its English subsidiary.

This new money won't go towards any all new models, but it will result in new higher performing, better costed, improved quality, and more tech. We're hoping one of these variants would be a US-legal Elise. Seriously, the Elise is brilliant, and we really miss it.

Another interesting tid bit: some sort of partnership with Honda has been confirmed, which means that the company might be switching engine suppliers from Toyota, or could even be co-developing a new car. We could see a Lotus Elan successor and a new Honda S2000 being built on a shared platform.
