The Charlotte Bobcats stink. For a number of different reasons, Michael Jordan's team just hasn't been very good in recent years. But MJ is banking on someone who is very, very close to him to help turn things around.

Late last night, Yahoo! Sports reported that MJ's brother Larry Jordan has been promoted to the position of team director of player personnel in the Bobcats' front office. The position, which has been vacant for three years now, was previously held by MJ's longtime friend Buzz Peterson. MJ is hoping that his brother, who served as team director of special projects prior to his promotion, can make a bigger difference with the team by taking on a bigger role in the front office. He will work directly with team president of basketball operations Rod Higgins and Bobcats GM Rich Cho.

Will Larry's additional input with the Bobcats help them get better? Probably not right away. But hey, giving him a bigger role in Charlotte certainly can't hurt, right? At this point, MJ will probably try and do just about anything to put a better product out on the court.
