Czech millionaire and suspected organized crime boss Radovan Krejcir escaped a particularly unusual and poorly planned assasination attempt when he exited his armoured Mercedes-Benz CL-Class to enter his Johannesburg Pawn shop. A VW Cross Polo across the street opened fire upon him with 12 shotguns that had been hidden behind the rear license plate, and his the driver's side window 10 times. Krejcir had already exited the car when the shots were fired and was safely out of the line of fire. The VW caught fire after the attack.

"All my life is like James Bond stuff" quipped Krejcir in an interview. "That's how I live my life."

Some theorize that Krejcir is connected to organized crime in Johannesburg, and he has been accused of murder, robbery, and insurance fraud after coming to South Africa in 2007 after fleeing from a police raid in the Czech Republic. He has been accused of tax evasion in his home country, and is the subject of frequent Czech extradition attempts.

Needless to say, it's certainly a tip off that this pawn shop owner drives a matte black, armored Mercedes CL.
