A little more than a year ago, Volvo caught everybody's attention with a hybrid supertruck with a 16-cylinder engine that pushes 1,900 horsepower combined with a 200-horsepower electric motor. It was out trying to set some speed records (it did), and we were amazed at what technology could be improved for semis. But racing against yourself is much different than racing against somebody else.

In a new trick at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix 2013 at the Nurburgring, Volvo used a Porsche Cayman R as a reference, beating the 330hp car in a drag race. The Mean Green crossed the 350 meters line in just 12 seconds at 112 mph.
