Last weekend, we saw Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith and Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkinsget into a war of words both during and after the St. Louis/Carolina game. Yesterday, it was Jets wide receiver David Nelson and Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones doing the trash talking. And it sounds like it crossed the line.
With Cincinnati leading New York comfortably in the second half of Sunday's game, Jones claims that Nelson cut him on several different occasions and was "playing dirty." And as a result, he reportedly told Nelson, "I'm going to find out where you live and come and get you." Jones didn't admit to saying those exact words after the game, but he did explain why he was so upset with Nelson.
"[Nelson] was playing dirty," he said. "He cut me like four times after the play. Thank God I took my medicine today, I guess, and I didn't go off. Hopefully he'll get fined. At least three fines. There were three real cheap shots after the play."
Oh, Pacman! Even if a guy delivers 100 cheap shots on the field, you do realize that you can't threaten to go to his house and harm him, right? Er, right? We expect that the NFL will have something to say about this situation in the form of fines for Nelson and Jones in 5, 4, 3...
